Hundreds of homes in Oxfordshire will soon receive solar power systems through a multimillion-pound government-backed scheme.

The county is trialling a new approach. Homeowners will pay £40 a month for the solar power upgrade instead of a large upfront cost.

Oxfordshire County Council says this could save residents more than £300 a year.

As part of the trial, contractors will install solar panels on 400 homes. They also plan to fit Air Source Heat Pumps in another 200 properties.

I’ll be travelling to Oxford to document the installation process. I’ll capture both video and stills for marketing purposes.

With the rising cost of living in the UK, solar power is gaining popularity. It’s encouraging to see a scheme like this take shape. Hopefully, it expands nationwide to help reduce working poverty through wider access to solar powered systems.
